Gatling Gun at Onondaga Hill Park, Onondaga Road and West Seneca Turnpike in 1961

The Gatling Gun sat on the front lawn of the old Town Hall at 4800 West Seneca Turnpike for
many, many years. There are several stories as to its’ history and how it got there, but there are
no actual facts. We don’t know where it came from but because of its’ rarity, we know a lot about
the gun itself.

In 2003 the Town Board gave their permission to Mr. Larry Romano, a professional gunsmith, to
take the Gatling Gun apart, clean, and refurbish it. He used the parts of this very old gun for a
pattern. He informed the town that the gun is inoperative since the insides have rusted and it
was too valuable to leave outside so it found a home in the TOHS museum.
