Onondaga Arsenal c. 1940
1808 – Governor of NY authorized to deposit 500 stand of arms at Onondaga for defense of frontier and militia stores, and provide place for keeping such materials
1809 – Land deeded from Cornelius Longstreet to State of NY
1810/1811 – Building erected on East Hill, ½ mile each of Onondaga Valley, two and a half stories high with 2 large cannons on roof
1815 – Building abandoned after War of 1812 ended
Ownership of property on where arsenal located has been in dispute over many years
June 18, 1927 – Daughters of 1812 dedicate plaque imbedded in boulder at corner of Monticello Drive and East Seneca Turnpike
